Switch to black earbuds included

I had a pair of NGR 3.0 headphones that I bought in 2016 and they finally bit the bullet when I put them in the washing machine and in plugged in the dryer. Anyway, I saw a new version of X coming out so I had to try it after having such good experiences with others. On first listen the sound was mediocre which surprised me because the other pair I had were very good. The problem was that the supplied transparent ear pads of the headphones were slightly deformed. So I switched to the black pair of medium-sized ear tips that came with the kit, with a wider opening. Problem 100% solved. With this fix, the NGR X sounds just as good, if not better than the NGR 3.0. For comparison I had PHILIPS ergofit, Sony MDR-XB50 and AIWA Prodigy-1. With ergofit you can realize that the sound comes from a tiny source in your ear, with clean highs and an artificial low-end feel. The XB50s raise the soundstage by about 10 stops and sound like real headphones. I would say that the highs plateau at a certain point and the bass is loud but you don't feel any vibration. The sound of the NGR X is similar to the overall package. The sound stage gives the feeling of listening to music with in-ear headphones. The highs are very clear and the bass is very warm and resonant without being boomy. I would compare it to listening to music through a speaker system in a living room, a relaxing and comfortable environment. Compared to the aiwa prodigy-1, the awia delivers a cleaner studio sound. If NGR X are crunchy, then Aiwas are crystal. The bass of the aiwa does not resonate like the NGR X, but is more powerful and direct. The reason I took them instead of switching to my Avias was the 3.5mm jack design. The aiwa have no strain relief when the cable hits the connector and I had to send them back several times due to cable breaks. The NGR X has a strain relief rubber and a gusset.
