This adapter works great for the iPad Pro 12.6, even with a thick case. This works if you have an Apple Pencil and are not touching it. It's a bit heavy, but remember it needs to be strong enough to hold an iPad. It will tip over onto a tripod if you tilt it too far, which can happen with any adapter due to the weight of the iPad. If you don't want to carry a tripod, the long end makes a great handle. I find it very convenient that my iPad doesn't fall off when held by the adapter. Overall a very good product and recommended.
