I've had this kettle for about five months now so I think I've had enough time to write an objective review. a cup if I wanted one. This worked fine, but I microwaved water in a glass jar to get hot water. I chose this kettle because of the good reviews and the lower price. So far very satisfied. The water heats up very quickly and switches off automatically. This is an important feature as I can go to the mailbox for mail/paper while the kettle is heating up. If I linger it just turns off as it boils and when I come back after a few seconds it boils again just by pressing the switch. use it. I've also seen a few of these stains on mine, but it didn't seem to affect performance. I would like to point out one more thing. After you have heated and poured the water, the steam may heat parts of the handle. So be careful to find and avoid these hot spots. I would also like the lid to open a little wider, but that's not a problem. This kettle is also very handy for hot tea and chocolate during the winter months. The other models I looked at were thinner and taller and I thought I'd prefer them, but my five month experience with this kettle convinced me I made a wise choice. You can't go wrong with this!
