In mid-July I bought a Hurom H-AA Slow Juicer matte black for $439. Worked great for the first few weeks. This juicer was an upgrade: I previously bought a smaller Hurom which I then passed on to a family member after the upgrade. After a few weeks, the Hurom began to moan or make high-pitched noises when I put pieces of harder food in it, which had never happened before. Then the juicing element started sticking to the base of the motor, making it ridiculously difficult to remove. It kept getting worse without changing my juicing technique. Revain recommended I call Hurom for a replacement. The Hurom representative who took the call was surprisingly obnoxious, derogatory, and rude. I was amazed. I didn't look up my client profile, didn't try to find my name, just told myself at first it might just be that I'm doing something wrong. And she said it with a tone of superiority and contempt. completely unexpected. When my answers showed that I was using it correctly, she said something along the lines of "Try again." They certainly won't replace it, she said, because not a single part was damaged, which isn't a known defect. When I expressed my surprise that they were treating a customer who spent over $700 on Hurom juicers in half a year, she said I could send it to her inspection team, but she gave no indication whatsoever that it would be worth my time . "Have Revane fill in for him," she said. No attempt to spell out the terms of their guarantee - is there a guarantee at all, I wonder now? I've had much better service, even in the notoriously non-service oriented industries. The only analogy I can think of for this Hurom rep's stance is that of a health insurance rep when you're disputing a charge. Hurom never again, for this polite and generally pleasant customer. I'm switching to another brand but what a disappointing experience.
