Build quality lags a bit, but not by much. I've been using Canon flashes for over 20 years and they were dying to call Canon for repairs or buy another unreliable flash. Why didn't I use anything else? Event photography can benefit greatly from the possibilities of electronics and ETTL. Obviously, China illegally reconstructed this product, but Canon overcharges its brand. A $130 flash breaks after a year of use, ma'am. A $600 flash in a year? Yes. Canon needs to work on their reliability or I'll take the copy/clone route.
