Obsessed monitor out of the box; but good now

Performance monitoring once I get to work is fine. Not the best monitor in terms of quality but I think it's good value for money. I'm not a gamer or a programmer, but for work I look at the monitor 10-11 hours a day, so the big screen helps. A slightly curved monitor also adds to the office's pleasing aesthetic. Image quality and font sharpness are quite suitable for office work, I have no complaints. The monitor did not work properly right out of the box. As soon as I booted up my work laptop and logged in, a screeching noise (e.g. a high-pitched screeching with different tones) came out of the monitor's speaker and an occasional popping sound as the screen went black. The power buttons on the back were unresponsive and I ended up unplugging the monitor and unplugging the HDMI cable. After a few minutes, I reconnected the cable and tried again, and this time, instead of squeaking and popping, the monitor started changing color patterns—red, green, blue, white, black, and so on. Once again none of the buttons worked so I had to disconnect the power and HDMI. I checked the HDMI cable and it works fine. I tried again and this time it worked. I was able to adjust the monitor to my liking and had no problems. Not sure what happened in the beginning but now the monitor is working as expected.
