I tried using the Windex product without the cleaner but it couldn't remove the dirt. The second attempt also failed. At this point I removed the screens and used this product and the windows were sparkling clean. Window cleaning takes a little more effort, but the results are better and the level of frustration is lower. There is no substitute for using a small amount of lubricant for a thorough clean. The pad makes the job a lot easier than an old fashioned brush and the product rinses sparkling clean.
