Not Self Cooling - my new review

It has a smooth side. It is decidedly not self cooling no more than turning over a pillow is self cooling. It gets hot on either side just as fast.

My Shih Tzu loves this bed! She lays right by the fan and relax all day!

Cons

The mat may require frequent cleaning to maintain its performance and appearance
