I have had several Cygolite bike lights. My favorite was their Trion cast (so sad not to see him again). Compared to this model, the Ranger doesn't seem to be on par with the Trion in terms of performance. The Ranger holder is my biggest complaint. It won't block the light after a few uses and I'm afraid the tab will break when I push it up. Light modes are also pathetic compared to my Trion (I had more options). I think it's ok because it's lighter and designed for my foldable e-bike, but I really wish they had a USB-powered trion like the Ranger. I also tried using the light while it was plugged in and it was on. I think that's a plus point, especially for e-bikes with USB sockets. I doubt if it deserves the advertised price.
