Review on πŸ”Œ Cmple - 6 Port Keystone Wall Plate - Single-Gang Wall Plate with Standard Size Keystone Jack Insert - White by Erik Peterson

Not really suitable for low voltage sockets

I bought these apparently because I have a lot of connections I want to make between walls. The only downside (and a big one for me) is that they're a bit big for the low voltage boards I've found. I've tried 4 or 5 different brands of low voltage mounting pads and they won't accept this pad without some modifications. However, they work with rearranging the mounting plates, which takes almost as much time as cutting a hole in the wall and running cables - in other words, it takes quite a while and you have to be careful or you risk damaging the mounting plate, rendering it unusable. Update: I found some *old* low voltage mounting plates lying around and they work great!. Based on what I could see I bought them from Ace Hardware. I tried doing a few searches and couldn't find any more. If you're looking for something that works (without major modifications) then you need an internal clearance of 2-15/16. Anything else and you will need to make modifications to the mounting bracket before you can use these plates.

Pros
  • Test for a year
Cons
  • poorly thought out
