This is a very nice cropper hopper. I've never had one and when I saw it on Revain for the low price I knew I had to buy it. I use it to hold my cardstock paper and color card samples. In my opinion this particular item is a "to each his own". It has many features that are either why you love it or why you hate it. I currently use this paper holder to keep all my scraps of paper which are color coded to keep my OCD happy and under control. The paper holder works well on my shelf, among other things, and doesn't tip over, but that's because it's between them. It is beautiful and has many compartments.
