Review on TopMate C302 Laptop Cooling Pad - Ultra Slim Notebook Cooler with 2 Quiet Big Fans, Blue LED Light. Chill Mat for 10-15.6 Inch Laptops, Plug and Play with Built-in USB Cable. by David Roberts

Revainrating 4 out of 5

Good for everyday viewing, suitable for gaming.

I have a 13 inch Razer Blade Stealth laptop. Densely packed with all its internal components, it's inevitable that the palm rests will double as a panini grill. For gaming, I found this cooler to be ok. My expectations weren't too high based on the price and reviews, but I had some hopes that it suits my needs. When gaming, the palm rests are significantly cooler than without a fan. They're still nice and warm, but definitely not cold like some claim. However, for normal internet surfing, e.g. B. Watching videos on Youtube, reading articles, browsing Reddit, etc. I found it very comfortable and it really cooled my computer. The blue LED indicators don't bother me too much. If you really want to, you can put tape around the spot where light enters or cut the LED wire that powers them, but my computer basically hides this. I would not recommend this cooler for larger laptops due to the performance of the fans. It is not as strong as shown in the sellers video where the fabric flaps in the wind. However, they are more powerful than some other coolers like cheap KLIM coolers (don't buy them, they are terrible). They're not as quiet as I thought they would be, but I think at the speed they're running it's definitely going to make some noise. In case you're wondering, this is more of a low hum than the high-pitched hiss you typically hear in computer towers or PS4s. So no, it doesn't look like a jet engine either, and with my headset it doesn't bother me at all. My friends told me they couldn't record fan/wind noise on my mic at all, so it doesn't matter. While it doesn't completely cool my PC's aluminum case, it at least makes a good laptop stand and provides some fresh air. In my opinion, this is the cheapest laptop cooler that really does the job to a certain extent. Other coolers under $15 usually have crappy underpowered fans. (PS: The first thing you'll notice is that the air doesn't come out more than 3-5 inches from the surface. I thought about it and realized it would be totally unnecessary anyway since the laptop is always resting on metal. So don't worry. ) Edit 7/31/2020: I changed the rating from 3/5 to 4/5 because after a bit of testing I found that it actually does a pretty good job and I might have been harsh. The default display was cool to the touch. Gaming, still a bit warm but not as hot as it would be without the cooler. A good buy in my opinion. The only reason it's not 5/5 is probably the lack of features; A switch for LEDs, a fan throttle, or more free USB ports on the back would be nice, but I guess that's why it's so cheap and simplistic. Just don't expect it to be as good as those fancy $50 or $60 coolers that actually boost performance and drop your CPU/GPU temperatures to freezing point. Updating this review exactly a year later is crazy because I just went through my orders and clicked on this product to write a review (I forgot I had already written a review and turns out that this is the exact date i wrote my last update ok this laptop cooler is very good i recommend it for its price :)
