These hooks are useless if you are trying to use them on a metal plate. The back of the hook is inclined at an angle of about 45 degrees and does not snap to latch securely onto the back of the thinner metal wall panel. They really didn't work that well with perforated chipboard. I returned them and found a few others at Revain (pegboard hooks - 50 pack of 4 inch metal pegboard hooks, pegboard hangers, zinc plated shelf hooks, pegboard organization, pegboard accessories) that have the hooks installed at an angle closer to 90 degrees , and these seem to lock much better behind the wall of my perforated metal panel.
