I was amazed at how quickly they stretch. We have water guns that require a 10.5 to 13mm diameter expansion barrel. They worked great and expanded quickly. The best way is to use distilled water at Walmart for hydration. Bottled water works well too. Stay away from bottled and tap water, especially water from a water softener that contains salt ions. Any kind of minerals in the water hinder growth. I ran tests and my tap water was the worst to use. So I am very satisfied with this product and will buy it again. Grandchildren can accomplish quite a lot in one session. I got tired of cleaning nerfs in the yard before mowing the lawn and got water guns for the kids, no regrets and no need to clean anything and they help the yard too. We don't encourage home use, but kids are kids and there's some of it, but not much. Still better than nerf darts or other hard bead toys. If you ever step on hard balls you will know what I mean and hard balls never go away or very slowly when you have a type this expensive. So lots of fun and a good price, even if you just play with it in the bath, which is what we do. I recommend for this use.
