I am currently using a 40 year old Fuller back brush. I bought this one thinking it would be a suitable replacement. I WAS SO WRONG! First, my old brush is only about 12 1/2 inches long; 6 1/2 inch brushes and 6 plastic handles. The entire brush from the brush head to the end of the handle curves slightly in one direction, so when I use it on my back it curves into my back instead of away from it and does the whole job well. return. The problem is that my husband is too short. He doesn't have the flexibility in his arms to reach behind him and move his brush up and down or side to side to wash his entire back. This newly developed brush has a longer handle that is straight as an arrow and narrow with hard angles that is very uncomfortable to hold. The brush is also longer, but detaches from the handle, first bending in one direction and then changing to the other. Regardless of how you hold the brush handle, close to the bristles or at the end furthest from the bristles, it's impossible to get all of the bristles in back contact at once, and almost as bad in back contact . only half a bristle, twist the brush sideways first to reach the upper back (or lower back if you prefer to reach over the shoulder) and then twist the other way to try the lower back. Whichever way you choose to get to the back requires a lot of twists and turns in one direction and then the other. Personally, I prefer to enjoy the shower/bath than consider it a chore and struggle with my back brush. If the brush were an equivalent replacement, I would have put up with the high price and looked forward to using it. Anyway I have returned this totally unacceptable brush and will continue to use my 40 year old Fuller brush as it is well made and still serves its purpose. I will continue to look for a brush for my husband to use.
