The camera takes pictures but has two problems: (1) It cannot connect via Bluetooth with the Panasonic Image App on the iPhone. The Bluetooth pairing seems to start fine, then it also wants to do the WiFi setup, it connects but both devices spin for a long time before giving up and the setup fails. So there is no transfer of time, geotagging etc. GX9 Firmware (v1.4) and Panasonic Image App (v1.10.14) are the latest versions which should work together but don't work. You can only get Wi-Fi to work, but it doesn't offer clock settings or geotagging, and it uses battery power too. Finally, the GX9 doesn't generate a QR code, which could make setting up Wi-Fi easier. (2) The GX9 raw format has changed from what Lightroom 6 could support and therefore LR6 rejects GX9 raw files. Only JPEG works. In many ways this is an LR6 issue (and an Adobe issue as LR7 licensing is unacceptable). Image quality seems decent, but the kit lens isn't the best. I will try my best lenses before making a decision. I have to say that the iPhone integration not working (Panasonic problem) and the lack of LR6 support for the raw GX9 format (Adobe problem) are big disappointments. I got it as a travel camera, so I need iPhone geotagging and image sharing, as well as RAW images for post-processing. Without this, this camera is not very useful to me, even if it takes good pictures. what's left Just to take JPEG pics and share them *after* the trip. I can take JPEG photos with my iPhone and share them instantly, so the expensive GX9 kit isn't particularly valuable. I sent it back due to the royally broken functionality.
