Revainrating 4 out of 5

Good Generally good for camera sleds

I don't know what "transparency" is and I'm not sure how heat is associated with this product. I have not given any ratings for these categories. If heat means the engine is getting warm, then heat is good. The engine does not get warm. If you're using this motor in a situation where audio is important and the mic is on the boom or near the slider, you'll have to work on the bar. The winning sound is easy to spot in a post, but can cause problems with the upper frequencies of female voices. I've found that the best way to get a sample of the noise is to run the slider fully with just ambient noise. I do this every time I vote. Record the movement down and back as the motor pitch changes as it decreases/increases. Materials and equipment are solid. There is play in the parallax so be careful with that. I also find the movement smooth at an angle or vertically (Canon 70d with 50mm and standard battery). Another problem I had was attaching stability to the ends of the slider. Motor rail mounts block the center slider holes. Makes using the light stand a little awkward so I bought Konova sliders (two). The slider has a central mounting hole on the "sides" side of each end. Mounting here will not distort the rails, as can happen with off-center holes. Used correctly, this is a great slider on a budget. I feel like I can use this slider for many months.

Pros
  • Camera mounts and stabilizers
Cons
  • Crumpled packaging
