This tablet is ready to use. Before connecting the tablet, be sure to download and install the driver from the manufacturer's website. I recommend leaving a thin sheet of plastic on the tablet, although it says to remove it before use. As long as you don't press the end of the pen too hard, you can avoid scratches. The stylus works with contact and wireless communication at a certain distance from the tablet. The tablet comes with a stylus, a pen brush, a pen holder, spare pin heads and 2 gloves (white and black). The indicator light glows blue when the tablet is paired with the pen. I purchased this item to work with my courses that I teach in person and online at a local college. Over time I will use it for drawing.
