Review on πŸͺ’ Tico Shaving Oil by Brooke Abrahams

Need a different design, oil works great

I have used Pacific Shaving Company Natural Shaving Oil for Men and Women - 0.5oz (15ml) and it has worked great. I really appreciated the small plastic bottle and the ability to squeeze out the oil drop by drop as I used 7 drops for face shaving and my wife used a different number of shaving drops. They really started making the bottle hole bigger so it became a lot less forgiving if you squeezed it too hard as the oil would spill out for a week (or more). Apart from this problem, it worked perfectly. I bought a bottle of TICO oil because I was looking for an organic shaving oil and this finally arrived. While the oil is great and no different than Pacific Shaving Company oil, there are 3 things I really dislike about this product: 1. The bottle is HUGE compared to Pacific Oil; it's easily 3-4 times the size despite only containing 0.5 ounces more oil (1 ounce vs. 0.5 ounces). Since I travel a lot, the smaller the bottle, the better. It's also better for home showering as it reduces clutter. The bottle is larger because a pump has been inserted into it.2. pump mechanism. Oil cannot be poured drop by drop, it must be pumped. This might make things easier for some people, but you can also use more oil than you need, which isn't cheap. FYI, a squeeze on the face is enough for me, but that seems like too much to me. Also, my wife wants to use this and she needs different amounts depending on where she uses it. So a fixed amount with a pump doesn't work well for her or even me when shaving anywhere that does. not my face.3. I don't know what the case is made of but I think the transparent part could be glass and the ends very hard plastic. I'm wet shaving in the shower and I dropped the bottle in the shower and I swear I thought I broke the shower floor it hit so hard. It's just bad design because you end up dropping it or knocking it over, and whether it's in the shower or on a tiled floor, the container is too hard; All of the other tanks in your shower are soft plastic, and for good reason. While this hasn't happened to me yet, I think that at some point someone will suffer either a broken container or a broken base when this item is dropped. If the container ruptures, the pumping mechanism may stop working. Also, it's probably not a good idea to have glass as part of the design of something that's going to be handled on a daily basis in the bathroom. Of course, not everyone will use it in the shower, but many will. Although I REALLY want to shave with organic oil, I will probably return to Pacific Oil when it runs out. However, I will continue to check with TICO to see if they have changed their design and if so I would be happy to try again. If you have any questions, just ask them in the comments and I'll be happy. to answer them as best as possible.
