My dentist recently informed me that there is evidence that I clench/grind my teeth in my sleep, even leading to some bone loss, than spending $400 on a custom one. When I checked Amazon, I quickly came across this one with lots of rave reviews. I was a little sad at the thought of having to carry guards at night. I thought it would be awfully uncomfortable and embarrassing. But! To my great surprise and delight, this mouthguard was very easy to adjust myself. Then after trying it for the first night and for the whole first week, I was AMAZING at how comfortable it is! A foreign object in the mouth also seems to help with dryness by stimulating salivation, but not excessively! When I woke up I didn't even feel like taking it out of my mouth right away! I decided not to cut it as the dental hygienist said it would make it even smoother around the edges. I'm noticing a steady decrease in the pain I've been having at the base of my skull on the right side, which appears to be another consequence of the grinding/crushing. Even though the item description says it comes with 4 guards, I got 6! I cannot praise the ease of use and convenience of this product enough! I also love that it's made of non-toxic material!
