it connects to the hose. It's very easy to make and all you need is a pair of pliers. Grasp the raised center circle of the water/flow restrictor and simply pull out. When I installed this product the water flow was poor but after I removed the water flow restrictor it worked great. This product itself is very good quality (seems durable but not heavy) and is excellent value at $17 at the time of this review. Installation was easy but the description of the 9 function nebulizers is a bit misleading because the 4 nebulization functions are actually just a reduced flow selection of the same 4 nebulization functions, so there are actually 5 nebulization functions (a trickle is the 5th, but the flow is independent of the Choice of water flow same). I don't really like any of the 5 'clicks' settings, but I prefer the setting between 'Spray' and 'Rinse Spray'. When I set it up like this, there's no "click" sound, but the hand shower's function selector has just enough tension so it doesn't slip and change the setting on its own. I'm assuming that technically this hand shower doesn't have 9 functions, but more than 5 "click" functions. Overall I give this product 4.5 stars out of 5.
