This carrier was designed for my 8 lb dog. It seemed less cumbersome to carry than the original Sherpa bag and is lighter. It was more uncomfortable to wear than the original - the first time I took it with a dog in it it rolled onto its side. I had to buy a belt from the baggage store at the airport and cross it over the original belt. It didn't fit under the airplane seat - I could force it, but that would save about 20% of the interior space. . This is not a very good quality bag - it uses a piece of plastic to prevent the top from folding on itself and the plastic piece is almost impossible to get in and out of the bag. We were very disappointed with this bag.
