After I bought a new MacBook Pro M1, I realized that it didn't support multiple displays out of the box. I have two additional monitors that I use. For what it's worth, my previous Intel MacPro was also patchy on multiple displays. They work inconsistently and often one of them has a lower resolution. I could tell the computer had problems. I was looking for a solution to my M1 problem and came across Targus. It does its job well, but you'll need to make sure you've downloaded the driver and enabled mirroring for it to work. Overall I'm very happy, just a little frustrated that Apple doesn't support it out of the box.
