Review on Fogless Shaving Suction Cup Shatterproof Portable by Darin Brooks

Revainrating 2 out of 5

Good materials, bad design.

The worst thing I can say about this thing is that it's very poorly constructed. I don't mean bad workmanship, in fact the plastic the thing is made of is very strong and the suction cup sticks very well to my wall. With the lock I honestly didn't know if I could take it off. No, I mean they clearly didn't think through how this product would be used in a practical sense. First, the mirror is removed a full 4 inches from the wall. I had another anti-fog mirror that was only 1 1/2 inches from the wall. This thing takes up a lot of space, and as I leaned forward to wash my feet, I bumped my head several times. The shaving tray is also questionable. It is slim and uncluttered so you can hang a razor on it. There are two notches for hanging the shaver, one narrower than the other. I don't understand why one razor is narrower than the other as almost every razor I've seen had a head that was roughly the same width. Worse, because my razor handle is beveled and gets wider near the head, I couldn't really fit the razor into the wider notch. I could put the razor in the compartment itself, but the main way to get it out is with the blade, which is far from ideal. So, great start, but what about the mirror. Well, as with all anti-fog mirrors, you need to fill the reservoir on the back of the mirror to bring the mirror's temperature to match that of the steam in the shower. Anyone complaining that this thing won't stop fogging is abusing the product, which is ironic since the mirror comes with instructions for exactly what to stick on the mirror. And it really works, I had no problem with figs filling the sink before showering. No, the problem occurs when filling out. You have a mirror on the wall and you need to take it down quickly. Well why not just remove the mirror from the base. There is a handle on the back of the mirror that attaches to a suction cup with a snap-on base. This outlet is fairly sturdy, which prevents it from tipping over when filled with water. Trouble is, it's so damn strong I wouldn't be able to put it down for the rest of my life. I had to stop showering, turn off the water, and dry my feet so I could crouch down far enough to get him out. Then I could shower again, now my sink has turned into a drain. But then it was time to return the mirror. Try as I might, this sturdy socket was too narrow for me to push the handle in unless I tilted it at an angle that allowed me to snap it into place with difficulty. Of course I spilled quite a bit of water inside because of this tilt. Hooray. Well, I thought, maybe you should take the suction cup off the wall? With the lock fully disengaged, it still took a lot of effort to get myself off the wall, but eventually I managed, I took it off the wall, filled it up, and hung it back on the wall to start shaving . In trying to slide and pull the mirror out of the suction cup bushing, I found that the main area they skimped on was the actual mirror. It's obviously plastic, but the left, right, and bottom edges are attached to the frame while the top isn't. It was very thin, so flimsy that I could easily break it by pressing on it with my pinky (which btw caused water to leak through the gap between the mirror and the frame. The mirror itself is just awful. Cheap, but there's no excuse for this thing looking like a mouse head, honestly it's funny house crap, it also blocks my stains when water gets in while showering my previous mirror had a water repellent coating on the surface to avoid that, but i assume manufacturer decitto saves that.. so good luck with shaving in a mirror that shows everything inside fill basin, you have to put the razor in, but honestly the thing is just sad in some places surprisingly nice materials, but they literally cheapened the most important part of a mirror, and the actual functionality of it is utter rubbish. This thing should show me It didn't save in my nightly routine, but in the end it tripled my time compared to just shaving after a shower. 2 stars for the materials on the frame and suction cup.
