I motor boat and need good eye protection on the water so I buy sunglasses. I had several Ray Ban frames including vintage Wayfarers, two pairs of Daddy-O's and a pair of Predators. Daddy O is by far my favorite frame, but I find the original G-15 lenses a bit off. In general, G-15 lenses don't offer good color or contrast and don't work as polarized lenses. which are highly desirable to block glare on the water and provide excellent contrast. While the G-15 lens can block 85% of visible light, it falls far short of its intended mark in almost every aspect. I have always replaced the original lenses with gray polarized lenses, blue mirrors on the outside and high quality anti-reflective coating on the inside. The lab doing the job does an excellent job and I get high quality, easy cuts, glare reduction and a crystal clear image. The outer shell of the Daddy O is rubber coated so the frame effectively sticks to the skin instead of sliding into the water. It looks like the most popular brand of sunglasses sold to boaters and fishermen. The frame provides ample protection from outside wind and sunlight, so I'm very happy with this style.
