I bought two for a small room and have other small speakers to compare. However, I found them crisp and the midrange and tweeter combination was one of the best sound combinations I've ever heard, but I didn't care about the lower mid-bass reproduction. I felt the woofer "snorted" like it was working too hard trying to produce bass it wasn't supposed to. I removed all EQ and it was still there - odd that it didn't track evenly with volume - was at normal levels and at higher levels. No distortion anywhere, but you can definitely hear it. So I'm sending them back. They might work best in a home theater for movies, television, etc., but not for music. If I ever put together a larger home theater system I would definitely consider them for the sub channels as they pair well.
