Review on πŸ”₯ Mueller Ultra Kettle M99S: 1500W Electric Kettle with SpeedBoil Tech, 1.8L Cordless, LED Light by Rusty Calcara

Revainrating 3 out of 5

Unboxed to 4 stars, got 3 stars and ended up returning

It all started with me messing up my kettle by turning on the wrong burner (oops!) and checking items on the list. I hooked it up and only recently unboxed it and this was my experience: unboxing was easy. It wasn't packed so tightly that I had to destroy any part of the box, and the instructions and warranty registration information were at the top. It consisted of two parts: the main teapot and the base. Connecting to the base was a bit fiddly as it has a very strong power cord. Note to the manufacturer for looking at this review: use a right angle fork. The base is also very light. Being a base this might not be a good thing as you really want to flip due to the stiffness of the leash. However, it has very good rubber feet on the bottom. Looking at some of the other reviews I checked the kettle and base for any damage or imperfections and found nothing. In fact, I was happy to discover that one of my biggest complaints (the lid only opens up to 45 degrees and may not be suitable for human cleaning) does not apply to my device, as can be seen from the photos. I have medium sized hands and was a little uncomfortable, but I know I can poke and wipe tape every once in a while. Now comes the moment of truth! Does it boil water quickly and efficiently? Well, it all comes down to your interpretation of "fast". I started with a liter of cold tap water as that is an easy indicator. It took just over five minutes from the moment I flipped the switch on to the moment the kettle turned itself off after boiling, which is consistent with other reviews suggesting a full 1.8L approximately take 8 minutes. However, I was surprised to find that when the auto-off feature is activated, the switch on the handle is physically turned back to the 'off' position, just like a rice cooker. Conclusion? At around $20 at the time of this purchase, this is a fantastic buy. I have a particularly small kitchen and appreciate a lot of space on the stove. Additionally, my entire residence is electric, so anything that particularly lowers that bill will be a win on my books. Actually a simple question: does this kettle fulfill the functions of a kettle? It fits me. I've given it 4 stars based on performance since unboxing it. 5 stars for safe and 3 stars for easy maintenance and 5 stars for. Perfomance? It's easy to pour into a cup. I drink a lot of hot water with coffee, tea and whatnot so I'll update this review in a few months with an update on its longevity as I've seen quite a few reviews. about how her blocks went away after a few months. UPDATE: After a few days I noticed a color change on the heating element in the Redneck. It would be nice if the whole body was glass and the heating element placed underneath to avoid this problem, but as I said it's not much for a $20 purchase. A more noticeable inconvenience is that you have to press down on the lid to make it pop out, which offsets it a bit. I press the button several times before the lid finally opens. To avoid this problem it would be a good idea to use a stronger spring. The last thing is that it is not very easy to merge. I don't want water to remain in it, but even if you turn it upside down, the glass has a little rim at the top that will hold the water back. I have to hand dry the inside, which is a bit painful. All in all, I'll leave it at 4 stars for the time being, since I suspected slight hiccups here and there for such a cheap facility. LAST UPDATE: I have decided to return the product. The lid just isn't designed very well. I understand people complaining about pushing their hand in to put it out, but for me the way the trigger directly counteracts opening the lid was too annoying to bother with on a regular basis. You have to press the button to make the lid move up, but the button spring is stronger than the hinge spring. So when you release the button, the lid will lock again before it can go up. I ended up having to press the button multiple times to open the lid to refill. Returning the item was easy as I was able to drop it off at the nearest UPS branch. I have ordered another kettle and will post a review on this site.
