I hate to give a bad review. Bought this for a hike and was pleasantly surprised when it arrived as the materials proved to be durable (I've had a few plastic sets in the past that didn't last long). Assembling the set is a little cumbersome, not difficult, just takes a lot of time. But it wasn't really a problem. When assembling the second ladder I noticed that it was a bad weld that made the base connector (see picture) look a little crooked. As I screwed in the part it was attached to, I heard a click and indeed the base connector snapped, rendering the whole thing unusable. Luckily the other stair worked great and we were able to get the job done by taking turns doing one stair. I would certainly have given a higher rating if I hadn't seen my purchase split in half before I had a chance to use it. I didn't want to lug around a broken ladder so I threw the broken one away. Don't try to pack everything up and send it back.
