Review on πŸ”Š Enhance Your Audio Experience with the Innovative Microsoft Modern USB-C Speaker by Brad Schillings

Awesome speaker but the cord is very short

So I bought this for desktops that don't have speakers or webcams so our employees can meet and talk on the phone without needing privacy. I'll start with the good ones because there are many good ones. The model is compact and has high-quality assembly. The USB cable is neatly wrapped under and inside the speaker enclosure so you can't see the cable (very neat design). Batteries are not required. The buttons are pretty big. The sound quality is excellent compared to laptop speakers or small desktop speakers. There is a form of noise reduction that can cause occasional clipping issues with parts of spoken words (although this only happens in very noisy environments with multiple conversations going on at the same time). The recipient of the call said the audio was great and it wasn't obvious it was a speakerphone call, so that's good. And here's what I didn't even think of: you can connect the speaker to your phone to make calls. ! I connected the USB-C cable to my phone and the speaker quality was much better than the speakerphone on my smartphone. The features are amazing as you can get higher quality calls without wearing a headset. And it has better noise cancellation than the phone itself. Now for the bad. It's a USB-C cable, which means you can't use it if you don't have USB-C ports. Most desktop PCs don't have USB-C ports. I ended up having to buy expansion cards with USB-C. The second minus is a very short built-in cable. It's long enough to plug into a laptop or when your desktop PC is on a table, but most people with laptops can use the laptop's speaker for audio and the webcam for the microphone. And most desktop PCs sit under a table so the speaker can't reach them. I've never tried using a USB-C extension cable. So I wish you could unplug the built-in cable and plug in a longer USB-C cable.
