This product is exactly as described, if you read the product description it absolutely says it is high quality fashion board. Once assembled, it appears to be real wood. No, it is not suitable for sitting or standing! It hides the tray very well. This is a very decent size. My cats love it and have no problem with it. Assembly is very easy and holds up well. This is a good price for this product as I have seen other litter boxes made from real cardboard for around $60. If you're looking for something made out of hardwood and can sit on it, you'll be looking at $200 and up. I am very happy with my purchase. No more looking at the cat box.
