I bought two of these. I usually use them for drinking water. I pour tap water in and then let the water sit on the kitchen counter for a few hours to break down the chlorine. After that, the water is ready for use. Sometimes I boil water first. Since the jugs are heat resistant, I can pour hot boiled water into them. They come with perfect, tight-fitting lids. Two long-handled scrubbers are included that easily clean the pitchers. They are robust and functional as well as very elegant. I would not hesitate to use them to serve drinks to my guests or at a formal dinner.
