Bought these for our 4 year old nephew size 2-3. If you are new to rainbow sandals, if you buy the size that suits you, you should know that the strap is very tight and uncomfortable. However, if you can endure the discomfort for a few days, these sandals will be some of the most comfortable and durable sandals you will ever wear once broken in. Also, I personally have had several pairs of these sandals (for adults). sizes) and they will last at least a few years with almost daily use and the strap will hold them all in place. That being said, we didn't want to put our nephew through that kind of "breaking-in discomfort" since he's new to sandals and his feet are growing pretty fast, but we wanted to give him our own rainbows because he wanted to be like us. =). So the size we gave him is a bit bigger than his feet, but now he can wear them comfortably and they will slowly wear out as his feet get bigger.
