The focus ring is thin and not smooth at all. Has great resistance. Small protrusions on the grip ring but they are small in area. However, the company does offer a plastic handle that attaches to it for easier access and movement.2 The aperture ring is similar. Since both are thin, moving one will cause the other to move based on the size of your fingers/thumbs.3. Finding the right focus is difficult. Especially for the elderly.2. aperture ring
