Review on πŸ”₯ Rowenta DW5280 Professional Steam Iron - 1725 Watts, Stainless Steel Soleplate, Blue by Carl Estell

Revainrating 4 out of 5

Bought NEW but used!

For quilting I needed an iron with more steam than my old Sunbeam. This Rowenta had all the features I wanted and it was described as having better gliding so I ordered it. When I opened the box, I didn't look too closely and quickly put Rowenta to work. It took longer than I'm used to to heat up, but once it did I couldn't wait to try the steam boost on a stubbornly wrinkled fabric. I pressed the steam boost button and was shocked to see white particles spattering all over my black fabric! I've never seen anything like this in my life! My 20 year old Sunbeam has never done this and I have never cleaned it! Obviously it's needed! I went back online and read other reviews that reported that a small amount of water in the iron is normal based on testing before shipping. This was not the case with what I received. There was no water in the reservoir. And every time I pressed the shot of steam, there were a lot of calcium particles. Then I noticed that the outsole looked very worn. This article has obviously been used quite a bit! I will of course come back and buy another brand!
