Review on Xenoblade Chronicles: Definitive Edition for Nintendo Switch by Michal Dobiasz ᠌

Revainrating 5 out of 5

The best I ever used, recommend it to everybody.

The game starts much more briskly than Xenoblade Chronicles 2. If you are not familiar with the series, you will definitely not regret starting with this part. Right now. A story about true friendship and love and one of the best JRPGs of its generation.

Pros
  • 50+ hours of story, sidequests and over 130 hours of exploration. Finally, the graphics from previous versions on Wii and 3ds have been completely redone, and the game has become much more modern looking. A huge world, more than 200 sidequests, many combinations between characters (there can be 3 characters in a group at the same time, there are 7 playable characters in the game in total), both in terms of the combat system and in terms of relationships within the group, allow you to fully experience the history of the beautiful world of Xenoblade Chronicles. The outcome of many sidequests directly affects the relationships within the game. The main character can return a spark to the life of a married couple, reconcile the once best friends, help a talented lazy person find his life's work. As you progress through the game, you begin to understand how everything is intertwined within the game world. Affinity chart creates a unique sense of immersion that you can't find anywhere else.
Cons
  • Lack of some minor functionality from the 3ds version of the game (such as amiibo support). The game performs much better in stationary mode, when playing in a portable mode, minor but unpleasant frame drops may occur. (The prologue is the most resource-intensive moment of the game, so DO NOT be afraid of drawdowns in it, it’s much better further on) The age of the game is still a little felt: the characters are not very mobile compared to XC X and 2.

Not such a masterpiece as the XC2, but also well worth the attention
