This particular brand of containers is made from a different plastic than previous ones I have purchased and is a different brand. These Novelinks are made out of harder plastic and the internal photo latches don't close well. If you are not very careful, the plastic seals on the boxes will break and the container will not close. You need to carefully align the case so it closes and not rock the latch back and forth too much or it will break. These are handy containers that make it easy to sort and store photos. I sorted all of our family photos and went from 12 large baskets of albums and boxes to 8 photo bins like this one. They are very strong and well made, I don't see why they break easily. (I thought I was reviewing the first brand of boxes I bought.) I don't know why he's asking about heat.
