Let's first state the main points: The taste of this powder itself is very good. I chose chocolate and it's milky in color, very similar to a bag of Swissmiss or Carnation hot chocolate. The texture is very finely ground and there seem to be some other ingredients in here that help shake it up really well in the blender bottle. . Unlike some other pea proteins like Vega One, you won't feel these granules in your throat when drinking Nature's Best Protein Shake. The only weakness of this powder is that it doesn't work well in smoothies. It has two different types of gummies — and each is enough to make this powder to turn any smoothie into a jelly-like pudding when mixed with things like banana or peanut butter. I have to use extra liquid because trying to "drink" is disgusting. I also have to say that since the chocolate powder is pretty sweet and milky on its own, the addition of fruit can make smoothies look too dessert-like for my liking. Overall, I recommend trying this protein out if you just want to shake your stuff in a blender bottle. If you prefer to drink smoothies after a workout, I would look elsewhere.
