Review on πŸŽ’ Reinforced Transparent Security Laptop Backpacks by Backpack Packism by Jill Ross

Structurally defective

Over the last ten years I have bought dozens of different transparent backpacks for work. None lasted more than three months before tearing, splitting, or coming apart at the seams. So I resigned myself to the belief that they can't be built to last and recently bought the cheapest ones at Walmart for less than $10. Until I came across this Packism backpack. The $30 price tag seemed high, but the reinforced stitching, very thick PVC plastic, and thick padded straps listed in the description convinced me to buy it. When it arrived I was pleasantly surprised. The plastic was very thick indeed and the stitching was of a much better quality than any other backpack I've tried. I used the backpack to carry an ultraportable laptop, a few bottles of water, and other items totaling about 10 pounds. After just a month of use, I noticed that the bottoms of both shoulder straps were beginning to fray. I was very careful with the backpack after discovering this. However, after three months, one of the straps completely broke off the base while I was wearing it, and my backpack (containing my expensive laptop) collapsed to the ground. My laptop only escaped disaster by falling on a soft carpet. I would not recommend that you use this backpack to carry anything valuable. What's really disappointing is that the rest of the backpack shows absolutely no signs of wear. There is not the slightest tear on the other seams, not a single loose seam. Other clear backpacks I've had degenerated evenly at almost every possible spot where two pieces were glued together. This has an obvious design flaw where the shoulder straps attach. Why they couldn't design this particular piece to the same quality as the rest of the pack is beyond me. But their lack of response to critical reviewers who had similar belt failures, along with a $10 price drop since purchase, leads me to believe they have no plans to address this issue and are just hoping to attract more customers. with a lower price. I think it's a throwback to the cheap Walmart for me. At least they don't give false hope for longevity.
