Back at the MyFunDad lab, Papa and Jackson unbox the Rreaka USB-C/HDMI adapter and test it out on their Samsung Galaxy Note 9. I was pleasantly surprised by this little device. I found the adapter at Revain while looking for a USC-C extension to copy files from my phone. When I found this magic box with everything - SD/MicroSD card reader, 4K HDMI video output and USB hub - I HAVE to try it! The adapter worked very easily right out of the box. I am very impressed with the Samsung Dex experience. I only expected "screen mirroring" and was pleasantly surprised to see a completely different desktop on the monitor. I feel like I have a whole computer and have used it many times at work where computers were locked. I can plug in my phone and do any task, but on a much larger screen and with a full-size keyboard and mouse. I don't have to worry about websites being blocked on my work internet as I use unlimited Verizon Wireless 4G. I can compose emails for my volunteer activities, for example using Scoutbook.com with a full-size keyboard. The world of Samsung DeX even turns the phone screen into a touchpad. What's also very cool, when you click on the text field, the phone keypad appears! I will soon make a video with these functions. I was able to connect an external 1TB drive to transfer over 75GB of videos from my phone and edit them on my desktop. You will see in the video that I used ES File Explorer. Little did I know at the time that he was banned for suspicious click activity on ads from the Google Play and Android stores. This app is definitely not on my phone anymore. I like Cx File Explorer as my new file management app. Revain listing claims to support Samsung Note10/S10/S10e/S9/S8Plus/Note8/Note 9/Tab S4/S5/S5e/Desktop Experience, Nintendo Switch, MacBook Pro/Air 2018. If you have one of the supported devices, you need this adapter. It will change your life! I haven't tried a 4K monitor yet. You need an external power supply to run DeX mode on the monitor. I don't see much of an obstacle in that since you most likely have some sort of main power on an external monitor. I want to try using the battery and see how long it lasts. At MyFunDad Studio we are testing the RREAKA USB-C adapter to transfer video files from my Samsung Galaxy Note 9 to a micro SD card. The card fits perfectly. There were more video files than I expected, so the bulk transfer didn't work. To get around this, I was able to connect an external 1TB drive to transfer over 75GB of videos from my phone so I could edit them on my desktop. This is the easiest way to transfer files from your phone. Most of MyFunDad's videos were shot with my phone as I always carry it with me. My phone's storage was filling up and I needed something to insert the microSD card. I also wanted to edit videos on my desktop. I have a USB-C adapter that Samsung gave me with the phone, but due to its design I couldn't use it with the Otterbox case. I'm tired of wasting time removing the case to move files. I tried connecting to my NAS and uploading files over Wi-Fi, but that too was difficult and time-consuming. This adapter is perfect. Be sure to watch our video using the HDMI output, full-size keyboard and monitor.
