Review on 🐠 Finnex FugeRay LED Aquarium Light with Moonlights by Amanda Quinn

Update: I've had a replacement bulb for about a week now. It still works great. I upgraded it to 3 stars because the light is awesome while it works. There are some reviews saying they had problems after about a month/30 days so I'll update the shelf life information after some time of use. I have followed the Finnex representative's instructions/advice in the comments on this. Review. I'm not sure if this solved the potential issue or if the replacement unit wasn't part of a bad batch. I am waiting to purchase a 30" model for my 29 gallon tank which I will be setting up in a couple of weeks. I want to make sure these things are reliable before I spend another $$$ on them.Original 1 Star Rating:I received this lamp last night.When I got home I unpacked and installed it.It was AMAZING how bright it was and how much life it brought to my little 10 gallon aquarium. "Moonlight" was a fantastic note. The blue shimmering water was reflected on the ceiling and created a beautiful effect. The lights come on at night as the aquarium is in our 2.5 year old daughter's room. I wasn't sure if moonlight would cause any sleep problems. However, this morning when she woke up, I turned on the white light. I returned to the room while she was playing less than 2 hours after I turned it on and the light flickered and went out again. I checked the blue lights and they did the same. I tried to put the plug back in the socket, but the same problem occurred. I even tried a different outlet in a different room. The light blinked a few times and then just stopped working. Now there is absolutely no light from this device. I've read some comments about Finnex reps stating that equipment not supplied directly by them may experience damage, although the issue has been resolved. Apparently I either got a device that was made before the fix or the fix doesn't really work. Anyway, I've requested an exchange through Revain, which is a very simple process. I think I'll give this flashlight a second chance before looking for something else. The features of this flashlight make it very attractive. As I said, the white lights are VERY bright and the blue moonlights look amazing at night. The installation is very easy. Basically put the brackets on top of the light, then attach to the tank with the mounting screws and plug in the unit. Each end of the device has separate switches for the white and blue LEDs. It has a very low profile at the top of the tank. It also has a very high claimed LED lifespan, which was a big plus for me on this model. I'll let you know as soon as the replacement unit arrives. I hope I just got the tune.
