I bought this small microphone to improve speech and music sound quality during the Covid-19 pandemic when people have to stay at home. The closer the microphone is to the source, the better the "presence” and rejection of unwanted noise. I was expecting an improvement by moving the mic closer to me, but I wasn't expecting such a noticeable improvement! The 39 second shot is what I took from my stack of shots, with this mic on my shirt, just below the camera's field of view. When I used the phone's microphone on previous recordings, the noise from neighbors, cars, etc. was very intrusive. With this body worn mic, the sound improved significantly, not only because of the quality of the mic, but also because the mic was so close to my mouth. The cable is VERY long and I could easily more than double the distance from the mic. Telephone, but it was not required for this use. Also note that if you use a standard camera, it can be used with the included battery as a condenser microphone for that extra signal. Yes, I would buy it again and maybe even get a gift for one of my co-workers. Watch the video and judge for yourself. No audio enhancements, just me, my Samsung S9 and this mic.
