It is used as a wall mount so as not to make noise from neighbors.

I bought this ivory colored blanket specifically to use as a large wall hanging behind my bed. I live in an apartment building, the walls are thin and the sound carries from one apartment to another. This wall hanging serves as an effective soundproofing. Now that my neighbor is on the phone, although I hear a muffled voice, at least I don't need to hear every word clearly. And when she loudly turns on her TV at 2am, it's not so loud on my side of the wall that I can't sleep. And as an added bonus, the ivory color is 99% identical to my wall color so it looks great in my room.
