Review on πŸ’‘ Normande Lighting FS3-729 Daylight Spectrum Accent Lamp: Blue Base & Shade, Silver Post by Loren Slama

Pretty good light but price is a big factor

I bought this from Revain when it was a lot cheaper than it is now. I was expecting to see it at this price but seeing how much it costs now made me rethink. If you take cost out of the equation, this lamp is decent enough for a small plastic accent lamp. This is a fairly plastic item, suitable for an unpretentious, simple look and nothing more. I just wanted an inexpensive bedside lamp and at the time it even fitted with a CFL bulb. The color is slightly darker than in the photo, the hue is closer to purple than the base. The switch is on a cord and the bulb has a smaller screw base than traditional bulbs - I believe the bulb is the size used for fans and sconces. The packaging said it was, but I threw it away as soon as I saw it. My biggest criticism of the design of this lamp is that the bulb has a crest just above the lampshade - I don't like looking at a bare bulb - in the photo here the lamp is closer to the centre. However, it puts out plenty of light for its power and doesn't feel hot to the touch or is poorly finished. With that in mind, I could give this product 3 or even 4 stars. The price doesn't matter but the reality is I paid less than $20 from Revain a month and a half ago and now it's well over $20 making it impossible to give a better than 2 star rating.
