As you've probably read in many reviews, if you normally use your oral irrigator at maximum pressure, you'll immediately notice a drop in pressure with this (and probably many other) replacement sticks. I timed the use of the original and replacement nozzles to see how quickly they can empty a 600ml tank of water. The original wand emptied it in one minute and 11 seconds. The change of baton lasted one minute and 50 seconds. This corresponds to a flow rate of 8.45 ml/s versus 5.45 ml/s or a 35.54% reduction. In the photo on the left is the new rod tank fitting, on the right the original one. The difference in inlet diameter is obvious. I drilled a hole in the new stick's mount but it didn't make much of a difference. I removed the supply line from the fitting and noticed that the outlet was very small. If you use an irrigator with a pressure set at 6 or 7, you can turn it up to 10 and get about the same pressure (assuming the pressure scale responds linearly from 1 to 10). Every other aspect of the replacement staff seemed fine. It installs easily and appears to be quite well made. But if you want the full power of your irrigator, visit the Waterpik website. The Waterpik replacement is $16.99 (for a WP-100 stick) with free shipping.
