Review on Trailer Valet Tongue Dolly Silver by Michael Hemmig

Revainrating 3 out of 5

Not everything is as simple as it seems. but well done. and works most of the time

I've been researching trailer carts really tirelessly! Bite the bullet, this only works for the most important job, close-range surgical navigation in my garage. This saves time constantly switching between park/drive/reverse and walking 40 feet from my driver's seat to the back of the trailer to see how much further and stopping abuse in my gear. I was hoping I could just detach the boat from my SUV and wheel it gracefully into my garage, 10 feet from the driveway. IT'S NOT EASY I have to queue up in my garage with my SUV, get as close as possible and use the Trailer Valet as a finishing tool. It does. Here are my difficulties 1) Marketing videos really exaggerate simplicity. If you are elderly/out of shape and using this to move a trailer more than 5ft. You will get hurt 2) You need near perfect surface conditions. Wet drive = no traction 3) I have a high quality 18 volt Bosh drill. It doesn't rotate the handle so I think the drill only works on empty trailers 4) Installation in your trailer may be very limited. My boat trailer barely had 1 or 2 spots to mount this. And even then, some modifications were required. 5) At least for boats, don't expect this to replace your original tongue jack. I left mine installed and am using it along with this one. 6) ESPECIALLY ON SLOPES, handlebars and brakes must be operated simultaneously. If the handle spins freely in an accident, you'll break your arm! I can only give this one 3 stars because of the special conditions required to make it work and only after blood, sweat and tears. Literally!
