This fleece fleece weighs next to nothing. I've worn it as a mid-layer on hikes in temperatures ranging from 10 to 35 degrees (with a North Face zip jacket on the outside and a long sleeve SPF running shirt on the inside). Very convenient. You hardly feel like you're wearing it. It largely fulfills its function as a breathable layer, even if you are out in the mountains in severe frost, you will feel the wind. I wore it as a top layer for the first time this week. at a temperature of about 40 degrees. Mostly warm enough when I moved in, although felt a few strong winds. To be honest this is preferable to something too thick that makes me sweat. The orange really stands out in the sun which made me feel better as I wasn't aware until the start of my hike that the hunting season was still in effect. No one will mistake you for a deer in this bright orange outfit.
