Review on Skechers Sport Equalizer Double Loafer Men's Shoes in Loafers & Slip-Ons by Anthony Mayes

I've owned many pairs of Sketchers lace-up athletic/walking shoes over the years and have always loved them for their great fit and all-day comfort, so I'm not entirely me sure why I was so dissatisfied with these lightweight slip-ons. When I first tried them on at home I liked them; but shortly thereafter, I wore them to an outdoor arts festival in picturesque Wilkes-Barre, Pennsylvania. I was up for four hours, outdoors in nice weather, on concrete, asphalt, grass and other surfaces. At the end of the day my legs were killing me and I felt like I couldn't take a single step. However, it did help a lot in getting me off my feet for the 2 hour drive back to Philadelphia, so I continued to wear these shoes for shorter periods over the next few days. I quickly realized that while my shoes are all shoe size 10.5, these shoes were too short and most importantly my toes were pressing against the front of the shoe which was causing a lot of pain every time I put them on. The wide width didn't feel as wide and roomy as I expected, but the shoe felt wide enough. And while I would have liked more arch support, the shoes were too small for Dr. Scholl's added arch support, which I wear in every other pair of shoes I own. These shoes are very light and breathable and they look great but unfortunately I'm giving them away now as they are worn out and non-refundable despite only being worn for about 10 days. I found I wasn't really comfortable wearing them even for short trips like grocery shopping. I even tried different socks - thicker ones for more cushioning; thin or no socks for more space. None of my sock choices improved my overall comfort. I still trust the Sketchers brand so I will try on another Sketchers loafer and I will ONLY wear them on carpeted floors at home to make sure they fit and are comfortable and if not I will return them.
