I believe this type of products is essential for the successful installation of hinges, fasteners and door handle parts. Unfortunately I had some issues with this brand of centering bits. The first time I used them they worked great. But the 9/64 bit got pretty boring after about 8 holes in the wood. I could unscrew the hex screw on the side and replace the bit with my own, so that would be the cure. However, there is a spring inside the chisel that holds the center tube in place when I place the chisel over the hole and push on it to start drilling. This spring shortened after use and failed to fully eject the tube. I tried to make sure it was free of sawdust and the like, but that didn't help. I was able to use it my way by holding the centering tube with my hand while drilling the hole. However, this method may not be very secure and error-prone. In addition, the drill wobbled slightly when drilling. I will replace it with another, better brand in my tool box.
