Review on 🚲 LEZYNE HP Gauge Drive Bicycle Pump - Frame Mount by Justin Olson

So disappointing. I chose this pump after reading a rave review of Lezyne cutters. For the most part it has great build quality and the sizing is very good - the flexible part is a bit short but I think it should fit in the pump body. The reversible end of the Presta/Schrader hose is very well made. The pump has nice rubber plugs - both on the "handle" and at the bottom (more on that later). The entire pump is of good quality. except that the internal threads on the pump where it connects to the hose are plastic threads. Unfortunately, this is a fatal error. This means once you inflate a certain amount of PSI, the hose basically crosses over and deflates. This happens when it's still connected to the pump - the only way to remove the hose and reconnect "uncross-threaded" is to unscrew it while cross-threaded. So you're turning a metal-threaded hose into a plastic-threaded pump and compounding the problem. The situation gets worse every time this happens, ie every time you inflate your tires if you want to maintain adequate pressure. After a very short time, the threads in the pump are damaged so severely that this happens at ever lower pressures. That plastic threading kills the whole pump - Lezin saved 50 cents by making this plastic instead of metal, ruining an otherwise very good design. Another point, but one I would live with if it weren't for the first issue, is that the nice rubber stopper at the end of the handle doesn't close when you take out the hose. It gets pretty uncomfortable after pumping 30-40 times. It could be an awesome pump with a few design changes. As it was a huge waste of money - a real shame as I really liked this product when I received it. I live in Singapore so I shouldn't return this Revain and I just have to accept the loss. Let's hope some of Lezyne's other designs don't have the same bug. You are 98% on the way there.
