I recently took the largest of the two Rhino balls on a long flight and was so glad I did. I would place it behind the neck like a pillow to relieve the stiffness caused by the surprisingly uncomfortable airplane seat. Both balls are made of hard rubber and not hard plastic. However, the larger one is hollow and will collapse if you press on it too hard - for example when lying down, like I did for a back massage. (Actually, the main reason I bought this set was for a do-it-yourself back massage.) It's still nice, but it would be even better if the ball didn't compress as much. While it's nice and firm, it's too small to really get into the tight spots on my back, like between my shoulder blades. In other words, this set ultimately failed in the main purpose I bought it for - a nice strong, deep back massage. However, these are well made products and I'm sure many others will find great relief from them. if they have the right combination of size and hardness.
